About Kawarimono Koi
OUR STORY
Kawarimono Koi is a small koi hatchery located in New Albany, Indiana. we are just minutes across the bridge from Louisville, Kentucky. The owner has well over 35 years' experience in the koi field.
AVAILABILITY
We do not have set business hours at our hatchery. However, APPOINTMENTS can be made to visit and purchase fish. Shipping can also be arranged. We do supply fish to Louisville's top retail locations, our fish may be purchased there as well, although, we have a greater selection at the hatchery. While it is not possible to publish individual pictures of ALL our fish, we do have some individual photos and prices list here. Also, you can find some videos of available fish on YouTube, listed below
OUR APPROACH
We specialize in the more unusual koi. While our koi are not "Japanese" , they do come from Japanese parent fish. Our fish are above average. We like to call them " Pond Plus". You'll also find our fish are much more affordable than Japanese koi. We also have many larger fish available in sizes from 4" to 18+" BUYING LARGER FISH allows you to better tell how they will look as adults. Small koi may change as they grow. Your also buying time. check the photo to see what we mean.

This is our 8000 Gallon XKP system . While not all visible, this system has an aquaponic component that helps keep the water clear AND provides us with garden produce, Additionally, we grow greens here that we feed back to the fish. Nice full circle system. 4 minute
